Elizabeth Blackwell Legacy Campaign
Home
Elizabeth Blackwell was the first woman to attend medical school and receive a medical degree in the United States, graduating from Upstate’s founding institution, the Geneva Medical College, in 1849.
In celebration of what would be Dr. Blackwell’s 200th birthday, Upstate is asking for your help to establish the Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell Legacy Fund, which will support a number of unique initiatives at Upstate, including a bronze sculpture on university grounds, student scholarships, and an Elizabeth Blackwell exhibit in the Health Sciences Library.
